Despite the gravity of the situation, no one was reported to have been injured in the fire, although a number of homes towards the top of the building have been severely damaged. According to the London Fire Brigade (LFB), a large part of the building’s roof and half of the flats on the fifth and sixth floors were also damaged in the fire.

The LFB took to social media platform X, formerly Twitter, to report on the incident, stating that the cause of the fire is still under investigation. Crews worked tirelessly throughout the night to extinguish the flames, with a fire engine remaining at the scene on Saturday to check for any outstanding hotspots.

The incident highlights the importance of fire safety and the need for rigorous investigation into the causes of such devastating blazes. The LFB’s swift response and professional handling of the situation undoubtedly helped to minimize the damage and prevent any potential casualties. As the investigation unfolds, it is crucial that the authorities and fire services work together to determine the root cause of the fire and take necessary steps to prevent similar incidents in the future.
