Hemant Soren Alleges Preponed State Elections in Fiery Comeback Speech

Hemant Soren

Former chief minister Hemant Soren announced that plans are being made to advance the Jharkhand Assembly elections from their tentative year-end dates. Soren, who was recently released on bail in a money laundering case, expressed his readiness to face the elections “at any time” during a public rally in Sahibganj district’s Bhognadih.

Commemorating the anniversary of the 1855 tribal rebellion against the British, Soren asserted that the INDIA bloc leaders would initiate a ‘hul’ to oust the BJP from Jharkhand and the country.

“After getting bail, this is my first day outside my home and that too on Hul Diwas. For me, and for adivasis and moolvasis of the state, this day is an inspiration.

Due to the situation in the country today, the INDIA bloc has decided to launch a revolution. We have vowed to uproot these feudal people (BJP) from the state and the country,” Soren said.

Hemant Soren announced that plans are being made to advance the Jharkhand Assembly elections from their tentative year-end dates.

The JMM leader said the time for another test has come. “I have got to know that the state elections will be held earlier. I say, why just bring it back. Conduct the elections tomorrow. I promise you that people have understood their (BJP’s) ploy… There is complete chaos (in the opposition BJP’s camp) and conspiracies are being hatched to jail me again. But I am not scared,” he said.

The Assembly elections in Jharkhand are expected to take place between November and December.

During his rally, Hemant Soren criticized the BJP for targeting Opposition leaders, including himself and Arvind Kejriwal. He declared that Jharkhand’s history of revolutionary figures like Sido Kanhu and Birsa Munda emboldens him, stating,

“They cannot scare me.”
