The Puducherry government has taken necessary steps to implement new criminal laws effective July 1st. Training has been provided to stakeholders, a manual for police and advocates has been published, and a comparative analysis of the new and old laws is prepared.
They also plan to release a book on the new legislations and will hold a meeting on Monday to discuss further details.
The upcoming meeting on the implementation of new criminal laws in Puducherry will include participation from the Lt Governor, the Chief Minister, the Law Minister, and senior police officials. They will convene to discuss and emphasize the details and implications of the new legislations.
“With several dynamic developments taking place we should also move with the changing scenario,” the Minister added.
The laws are expected to be translated into Tamil, as mentioned by the Law Minister, although no specific time frame was provided for this translation process.
