Wade Barrett has been vocal about his opinions on WWE Superstars, particularly Apollo Crews and CM Punk. Barrett criticized Crews’ recent performance on SmackDown, stating that his career has been “in the doldrums” and that Legado Del Fantasma has “completely ruined” his momentum. He also called for CM Punk’s dismissal from WWE, stating that his actions against Drew McIntyre were worse than Bret Hart’s betrayal in Montreal.
Apollo Crews was set to compete on SmackDown but was attacked by Legado Del Fantasma, leaving him unable to perform. Crews was given another chance to make his entrance, but Barrett expressed his opinions on Crews’ career. Barrett claimed that Crews’ career has not been going well for the past 12 months and that Legado Del Fantasma has “completely ruined” whatever momentum Crews had hoped for. This past SmackDown, Crews tried to turn his fortune around, narrowly losing his first match in months on the main roster.
Wade Barrett has also been critical of CM Punk’s actions against Drew McIntyre. During the match and after the post-show, Barrett made his opinions clear. He called for CM Punk to be fired by WWE management, stating that Punk’s actions were worse than Bret Hart’s betrayal in Montreal. Punk’s actions had already resulted in Priest’s cash-in on McIntyre, and it was Punk who had made sure that McIntyre lost a No.1 Contender’s match.
It remains to be seen if Punk will face consequences for his actions, but one thing is clear: Drew McIntyre is ready for his revenge.
