WWE’s former superstar Ted DiBiase Jr. is set to face trial for his involvement in Mississippi’s largest fraud case in history. DiBiase Jr. and his brother are accused of misappropriating around $77 million intended for low-income families in Mississippi, with former NFL quarterback Brett Favre also facing accusations of personal gain from the funds.

The trial was initially set for July but has been rescheduled to January 7, 2025, with a pre-trial conference on December 13, 2022. DiBiase Jr. previously expressed his thoughts on the pressure of following in his father’s footsteps in the wrestling business in a 2021 interview.

DiBiase Jr. debuted as a WWE superstar in 2008, two years after his training, while his father, “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase, had many years of experience in the wrestling industry before joining WWF. DiBiase Jr. confessed to feeling the pressure of living up to his father’s legacy and fulfilling expectations, which he had to meet due to the standard set by his father.

Despite these challenges, DiBiase Jr. captured the World Tag Team Championship twice with Cody Rhodes during his time as a WWE superstar. Now, DiBiase Jr. faces a trial that could determine his future. The 41-year-old’s trial is set to take place in January 2025.
