In a recent interview, WWE’s Chief Content Officer Triple H spoke about his relationship with CM Punk, who made a surprise appearance at Clash at the Castle: Scotland. Punk’s interference in the title match allowed Damian Priest to win, and later, he addressed media persons in the presser, discussing WWE, the backstage environment, and his health status.
At the Clash at the Castle post-show press conference, Triple H acknowledged Punk’s impact on WWE’s new atmosphere. He recognized that Punk had been advocating for many of these changes years ago when they had different perspectives. However, Triple H noted that their past disagreements were a thing of the past, stating, “We saw eye-to-eye but it was angry eye-to-eye, it was opposition eye-to-eye” [0:38 – 1:20].
During the press conference, Punk shared an update on his tricep injury, which he sustained during the Royal Rumble earlier this year. He mentioned he was recovering well and had received permission to skip RAW this week to meet his doctors in Chicago. Punk was hopeful of being cleared soon and hinted at potentially showing up to SmackDown when the blue brand visits Chicago next week.
Punk’s return to WWE has brought about a noticeable change in the company, and his relationship with Triple H has evolved from past disagreements to a mutual understanding. Meanwhile, Punk’s injury update indicates that fans can expect to see more of him in the ring soon.
