In a recent turn of events, WWE Superstar CM Punk was called a hypocrite by the current NXT Women’s Champion, Roxanne Perez. The incident occurred after Perez’s successful title defense at NXT Battleground, where she defeated TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace.
Punk, who has been known for his blunt comments, interrupted Perez’s backstage interview and told her that she was lucky to have won the match. He went on to advise her to focus on elevating the NXT Women’s Championship. However, Perez had a different opinion and called out Punk for being a hypocrite, leaving him visibly surprised.
In response to Perez’s comments, Punk posted a reel on Instagram with the caption, “Kids these days.”
Previously, Perez had revealed that Punk once gave her a crucial piece of advice during her wrestling career. “He was sitting right next to me watching another match…He leaned back and saw what I was doing on my phone, and he goes, ‘Stop looking at that! It doesn’t matter what they say. It doesn’t matter if they love you. It doesn’t matter if they hate you. You keep on going out there and doing what you do,”‘ she had said.
It remains to be seen if Perez will respond to Punk’s recent comments on social media.
The incident has sparked a debate among wrestling fans about the dynamics of giving and receiving advice in the industry. While some have criticized Punk for his comments, others have come forward to support Perez’s stance.
