Barcelona’s hopes in the Champions League quarter-finals were dashed as a series of defensive errors led to their 4-1 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain, resulting in a 6-4 aggregate loss and their exit from Europe.

The match started positively for Barcelona, with Lamine Yamal’s early goal putting them ahead within the first 15 minutes.

However, their fortunes quickly changed when Ronald Araujo’s reckless foul on Bradley Barcola led to a red card, shifting the momentum in PSG’s favor.

Former Barcelona player Ousmane Dembele leveled the score just before halftime, capitalizing on a precise cross from Barcola.

PSG seized control in the second half, with Vitinha’s long-range strike and Kylian Mbappe’s penalty extending their lead to 5-4 on aggregate.

The situation worsened for Barcelona as tensions rose, with manager Xavi being sent off for dissent, and several players receiving yellow cards.

Mbappe sealed PSG’s victory with a late goal, capitalizing on another defensive mistake from Barcelona.
