Former WWE Head of Talent Relations, John Laurinaitis, has acknowledged the recent lawsuit filed against him. Janel Grant accused Vince McMahon and Laurinaitis of sexual trafficking and assault during her time as a WWE employee. Laurinaitis filed a waiver of service with the United States District Court of Connecticut, signaling his awareness of the lawsuit.
Laurinaitis waived personal service of the lawsuit, committing to respond within 60 days of March 15. He stands as the first defendant to address the lawsuit officially.
In the lawsuit, Laurinaitis faced allegations of repeated sexual assault. In response, he released a statement through his attorney, Edward Brennan, refuting the claims and deeming the lawsuit a “misguided complaint.” Brennan emphasized Laurinaitis sees himself as a victim, not a predator, intending to staunchly defend against the charges.
Brennan stated, “Mr. Laurinaitis denies the allegations in the misguided complaint and will be vigorously defending these charges in Court, not the media. Like the Plaintiff, Mr. Laurinaitis is a victim in this case, not a predator. The truth will come out.” With Laurinaitis committed to responding to the court within the stipulated time, the unfolding legal developments remain to be observed. Meanwhile, Vince McMahon has yet to address the lawsuit officially.
