Ukraine’s Secret Agency Conducts Elaborate Operation Against Russia’s Vital Rail Route

Ukraine's Security Service

Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) has allegedly carried out an operation to target Russia’s Baikal-Amur Mainline, a crucial rail route connecting the two countries and China. According to Ukrainian media outlets, the SBU struck trains carrying fuel, causing a fire that took hours to extinguish, and a second explosion later that day. The targeted trains were traveling through the Severonomuisky tunnel in Buryatia, a remote region in southern Siberia, when the blasts occurred.

While Russian authorities have remained silent on the second explosion, Ukrainian media sources claim that the SBU aimed to disrupt Russia’s trade with China and showcase Ukraine’s military capabilities. The SBU has not publicly confirmed the reports, but Ukraine has previously claimed responsibility for attacking infrastructure facilities deep within Russia. Moscow, on the other hand, has maintained that Ukraine’s military and security agencies have the capability to strike targets anywhere in Russia in order to counter its aggression.

As the conflict between Ukraine and Russia continues, Ukraine’s military has successfully shot down several Iranian-made Shahed exploding drones and missiles launched by Russia. On the ground, a tragic reminder of the ongoing conflict has emerged, with at least four civilians killed and 16 others wounded between Thursday and Friday morning, according to the office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Ukraine’s Security Service

In another development, Russia’s Federal Security Service has detained a suspect accused of carrying out attacks on a military airbase and a cargo train in western Russia. The suspect, a dual Russian-Italian citizen, allegedly received training in Latvia before returning to Russia and was recruited by Ukrainian military intelligence in Istanbul.

The operation highlights the escalating tensions between Ukraine and Russia, with each side engaging in a game of cat and mouse. Ukraine’s SBU has demonstrated its ability to strike targets deep within Russia, while Russia’s Federal Security Service has apprehended a suspect accused of carrying out attacks on Russian soil. The conflict shows no signs of slowing down, with both sides trading blows and civilians caught in the crossfire.
