Ian Paget is a well-known British-American actor, model, dancer, and Tik Tok celebrity. He is quite well recognized for his Dancing and acting abilities. As an established dancer, he has appeared in several Broadway and theatre productions.
He has also appeared on Dancing with the Stars, Lip Sync Battle, and Saturday Night Live. He has a sizable social media following. He is also well-known for his romance with TikTok star Chris Olsen.
They run a YouTube channel together. After three years of dating, Ian and Chris announced their split in January 2022.
On January 7, the TikTok pair announced the termination of their two-year romance and are now opening up about the causes for their decision.
Chris and Ian explained in a joint YouTube video posted on January 11 how being placed in the limelight. They shipped as a “perfect amazing couple” affected them before calling off their romantic relationship.
“Being in the public eye the way we’ve been for the last year and a half, two years, is crazy,” Ian said. “And so many things are extremely complex, layered, and pressurized. For the time being, we’ve decided it’s probably in our best interests to travel the world unromantically.”
He revealed, “We’re fine, and we want you to be fine as well. And we just wanted you to know that just because we aren’t in a romantic relationship together doesn’t mean we can’t work on a very meaningful, deep connection and relationship. I will always love this human so much.”
Chris clarified that the couple’s fame on TikTok was too much for them to handle. “We had only been together for seven months when we started doing social media, and we were also just doing it for fun,” he explained. “We didn’t just get a TikTok and say, ‘Let’s get a job.’ ‘Let us make this our entire lives.’ And it just happened to be that way.”
“You don’t even know each other that well when you’ve only been together for seven months,” he proceeded. “So, suddenly being shipped as this, like, perfect amazing couple—who, if we ever break up, people won’t believe in love—was just a lot of pressure.”
Chris acknowledged that no one “meant to put that pressure on,” but he still felt it. “They were just talking with joy and love,” he explained. “I think it was just such a whirlwind going from long distance to COVID living together to becoming the Chris and Ian that you knew to be Chris and Ian.”
“The last few weeks have been difficult for Chris and me, but he’s my best friend and always will be,” Ian explained. “While we are no longer boyfriends, we are excited to explore our new relationship in the future. We are grateful for everyone’s continued love and support; in some ways, this is just the beginning.”
In their first YouTube video, the couple recalled how they became an official relationship only two months after they met in July 2019. “I was apprehensive about jumping into this new thing with someone so willing—he was just so willing to love me, and he didn’t know me yet, and that was beautiful,” Ian said in the video. “You simply say yes to that.”
And just under four months ago, the two marked their anniversary with an Instagram post. Chris wrote, “2 years of Chris & Ian.” Under which Chris wrote, “Happy anniversary, Ian.”
However, they began making red carpet appearances recently and were noticeably absent from each other’s Instagram posts. Some fans eventually started to speculate about the prospect of a breakup.
Their latest TikTok confirmed things were cordial between them: “When you break up but are still best friends,” it read.
