Jeff Bezos’ retailer giant Amazon plans to release on September 24, their new array of hardware gadgets. Tech pundits expect to see updated versions with the look and feel for Echo devices, Alexa’s upgrades, better things for Prime Video, new additions for Amazon Music, as well as other surprises they might have in line for us.
Amazon’s push for retailer supremacy is evident as their competition like Walmart is trying to innovate the new gold-standard of same-day shipping, offered by the company’s Prime services.
In 2019, the Amazon event rolled out over a dozen devices like the Echo Dot with Clock, the Echo Frames, a Smart Oven, and Amazon’s Echo Studio. This 2020s event will take place a day just before Amazon’s long-awaited Prime Day 2020, whose exact date is unknown but it seems like it will take place in the second week of October, only as the retail world braces for Cyber Monday sales and the famous Black Friday.
We can expect a fair amount of sales, discounts, and liquidations on Amazon’s old devices stock. Amazon’s hardware is of quality, that’s for sure, and with this year’s voice recognition updates and new pieces and equipment, we’re likely to see models within Amazon’s speaker lineup like the Echo and Echo Dot with Click.
A newer model, the Amazon Echo Studio, a beautiful piece of hardware that incorporates Dolby’s Atmos speaker. The Echo Studio is a smart speaker with clear-crisp sound.
Internet of Things technology’s foothold in modern households is more than evident, now more than ever as the lockdown following the Wuhan Virus Pandemic forced everyone to remain at home and go about their daily lives from the comfort of their homes. So, expect to see many devices that you could normally plug to an ordinary socket and then have it synced to your Wi-Fi connection for the full enjoyment of its functions.
Another piece of tech hardware gadget that we might see is a 2020 update for the Amazon Echo Buds, the competitor to Apple’s popular AirPods. These new updates for the Amazon Echo Buds could include notorious improvements in quality and battery life.
As for Amazon’s array of products for the TV, gadgets like now démodé Fire TV, perhaps Jeff Bezos’ company could keep up with the trend and offer an 8K Fire TV device, just as they could offer an updated Fire TV Cube for the new line of 8K television sets that 2020 has in store for us.
Amazon’s tablet line will surely see another upgrade, as this segment is popular among parents that give their kids the device to play with.
As for the Kindle, Amazon’s flagship e-reader, the company has a long way to go, because it’s been nearly two years since innovation on that product, better resolution, and perhaps the incorporation of better support for outdoors visualization, child-proof shocks, and waterproof builds.
It’d be unfair to claim that Amazon’s Kindle devices are not of good quality, but we’re not likely to see many improvements in that department, as the company currently explores other options with their consumer electronics. What we can tip our readers, is on the fact that older kindle devices will surely be on sale.
