Oba Femi, the current NXT North American Champion, is set to face a significant challenge for the title for the last time in his reign. The challenge was issued during a recent WWE event.
Wes Lee, a 29-year-old star, will be the one to take on Femi for the title. Lee has made a name for himself as a singles competitor, particularly after winning the NXT North American Championship. As the titleholder, Lee demonstrated his fighting spirit, taking on any challenger for the title and holding the record for most title defenses for the North American Championship.
However, after losing the title belt, Lee seemed to change as a competitor. He attempted to get it back, but a serious injury derailed those efforts, causing him to take a prolonged break. Upon his return to the ring, Lee went after the NXT North American Championship immediately. He got his chance in a triple threat match at Battleground but unfortunately came up short.

Tonight, on WWE NXT, Lee confronted Femi and demanded a singles match for the title. Initially, Femi rejected Lee’s demand, but ultimately agreed on the condition that Lee could never challenge for the title again as long as he was the champion. Lee did not hesitate and accepted the conditions for the match.
It is now interesting to see if Wes Lee can finally regain the North American Championship and bring an end to Oba Femi’s dominant reign in the developmental brand tonight.
