In recent weeks, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has seen a decline in ratings and viewership, but the return of MJF has injected some excitement into the promotion. WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long, however, expressed his disappointment in the treatment of the current AEW Champion, Swerve Strickland. Long believes that while MJF is undoubtedly a top talent who can hold his own without a manager, Swerve Strickland deserves more TV time and recognition, hinting at a potential feud between the two stars in the near future.

Long’s comments came during an episode of The Wrestling Time Machine, where he commended MJF’s wrestling skills and entertainment value but emphasized the importance of giving the champion adequate screen time. Despite his admiration for MJF, Long stressed the necessity of showcasing the current titleholder, suggesting that Swerve Strickland has been overshadowed and neglected in recent programming.

Additionally, Long touched upon Mark Henry’s recent departure from AEW, attributing it to Henry’s desire to spend more time with his son. Long spoke highly of Henry’s dedication as a father, noting how Henry has always prioritized being present for his son, Jacob. With Henry’s contract expiring and his decision to step away from AEW, Long speculated on the possibility of Henry returning for one final match in WWE, highlighting the personal reasons behind Henry’s career choices.

As the wrestling terrain continues to evolve, with talents like MJF making impactful returns and champions like Swerve Strickland seeking more recognition, the industry remains a dynamic and ever-changing environment. Long’s insights shed light on the intricacies of behind-the-scenes decisions and personal motivations that shape the careers of wrestling icons, leaving fans intrigued about what the future holds for these beloved figures in professional wrestling.
