Twitter Plagued by Glitches and Outages After Unintended Consequences

Twitter

Twitter faced a series of technical issues on Monday, including links not working, login problems, and image loading failures, leaving many users frustrated. The company attributed the problems to an internal change that had unexpected consequences. In a statement, Twitter apologized for the inconvenience and assured users that they were working to resolve the issue.

The errors affected various aspects of the platform, including the inability to access Twitter’s help page, which displayed a message saying that the current API plan did not include access to the endpoint. Additionally, some users were unable to see images posted by others. NetBlocks, an internet access watchdog, reported international slowdowns and outages affecting many users, particularly with image and video content.

Twitter’s support team took to the platform to update users on the status of the issues, stating that some parts of the platform were not working as expected. The team worked to resolve the problems, and by 6:05 pm UK-time, they announced that things should be working as normal, thanking users for their patience.

The recent glitches on Twitter follow a trend of increased instability and bugs on the platform, which experts have warned is a result of Elon Musk’s decision to cut staff significantly. Engineers and experts have expressed concerns that the platform is at an increased risk of fraying due to the lack of personnel working to maintain it. Last month, a bug left users unable to send tweets, highlighting the vulnerabilities of the platform.

Twitter’s response to the recent issues has been to acknowledge the problems and work to resolve them, but the recurring nature of these glitches raises questions about the company’s ability to maintain a stable platform. As the platform continues to grapple with these issues, users will be watching closely to see if Twitter can restore its reliability and functionality.
