Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa boldly went where no self-paying tourist had gone before, returning to Earth after a 12-day stay at the International Space Station, where he gained a newfound appreciation for the everyday things in life. During his journey, Maezawa, the 45-year-old founder and CEO of Start Today, shared his experiences on social media, showcasing his antics in weightlessness. He mentioned the wind, changing seasons, smells, and sushi as things he took for granted before his intergalactic adventure.

Maezawa’s appreciation for the small things in life was sparked by his time in space, which he described as giving him a fresh perspective on the world. He expressed his enthusiasm for the potential of the space market, stating that he is preparing to invest in various businesses that may develop from the ongoing research by NASA, Japan’s JAXA, and other space agencies. The billionaire, who has over 11 million Twitter followers, has also shared his dreams for space travel, including a trip to the moon aboard Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s Starship, which is scheduled for the next few years.

Maezawa’s return to Earth has been marked by a series of tweets and posts on social media, where he has shared his experiences in space. Despite his wealth and celebrity status, the billionaire’s trip to space has also given him a newfound perspective on the importance of global cooperation. He hopes that one day, the world’s leaders will have the opportunity to experience the beauty of our planet from space, just as he has. The billionaire believes that such a view could help politicians realize the importance of working together, and it is his dream to see this become a reality.

Maezawa’s cost for his space voyage was reportedly over 80 million dollars (£59 million), a significant expense for the billionaire, who is estimated to have a wealth of 1.9 billion dollars (£1.4 billion). Despite this, he is already planning his next intergalactic adventure, and is eager to recuperate from his journey after his return to Earth.
