Pallavi Patel, a leader of Apna Dal (Kamerawadi) and rebel Samajwadi Party MLA, has been persistently calling for a CBI investigation into the death of her father, Sonelal Patel, who founded Apna Dal.
Sonelal Patel reportedly passed away in 2009 under circumstances believed to be related to a road accident. Pallavi Patel’s demand for a CBI probe underscores ongoing concerns and unresolved questions surrounding his death.
Pallavi Patel, along with other members of Apna Dal (Kamerawadi), conducted a protest in Lucknow’s Hazaratganj area, wearing black ribbons to highlight her demand for a CBI investigation into her father’s death.
She also advocated for Z security for her mother, Krishna Patel, who is the national president of Apna Dal (K).
Krishna Patel has expressed suspicions about her husband’s death on October 17, 2009, alleging that it was a murder orchestrated as part of a conspiracy. She pointed to a previous attack on Sonelal Patel in 1999 to support her claims.
These assertions underline the family’s ongoing quest for justice and accountability regarding Sonelal Patel’s demise.
Pallavi Patel indirectly criticized her sister, Union minister Anupriya Patel, who leads the Apna Dal (Sonelal) faction, by pointing out that despite being in government for the last decade, Anupriya never pursued an investigation into their father’s alleged murder, despite claiming to be Sonelal Patel’s rightful successor.
This comment reflects tensions within the family and political faction over how Sonelal Patel’s death has been handled and perceived.
Later, Pallavi Patel proceeded to submit a memorandum addressed to the Uttar Pradesh Governor through officials. She emphasized that their campaign for a CBI probe into her father’s death and other demands would persist until they achieve their objectives.
This indicates a determined stance to pursue justice and accountability regarding the circumstances surrounding Sonelal Patel’s passing.
