Former India head coach Ravi Shastri has had a significant setback at the 2024 T20 World Cup, with his luggage getting stuck on another island. As a result, he had to wear a robe to the breakfast table, which he jokingly referred to as feeling like a “drug lord” in his witty social media post.
Shastri, who is known for his commentary work, had traveled with the Indian team from Barbados to Antigua for their upcoming Super-8 game against Bangladesh, scheduled to take place at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium on June 22. In his tweet, he captioned a photo of himself wearing a robe, saying, “Feeling like a drug lord at breakfast in this outfit here in beautiful Antigua, even though my luggage is still on another island. Can’t wait for it to arrive soon!”
Despite the inconvenience, Shastri chose to stay optimistic and cracked a joke about his situation. His tweet has garnered considerable attention, with many fans sympathizing with his plight and admiring his sense of humor.

Shastri had a remarkable career as a player for India, playing 80 Tests and 150 ODIs between 1981 and 1992. He amassed 6938 runs, including 15 tons and 30 half-centuries, and scalped 280 wickets. He also won the Player of the Series award at the 1985 World Championship of Cricket.
More recently, Shastri has been vocal about Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant’s international comeback. In an interview with India Today, he hailed Pant for his hard work and resilience, saying, “Not just for yourself, it’s an inspiration to millions around the globe. From adversity, from the jaws of death, you can snatch a win as well. So well done, keep up the good work.”
Pant has indeed made a remarkable comeback to international cricket, scoring 36*, 42, 18, and 20 against Ireland, Pakistan, USA, and Afghanistan, respectively, at the 2024 T20 World Cup so far.
