WWE Universal Championship: A Legacy in Motion

Former Universal Champion, Goldberg, recently expressed his desire to have a final match before retiring from in-ring action. Goldberg, a two-time Universal Champion, has not competed in a WWE match over two years after his last appearance at Elimination Chamber 2022, where he lost to Roman Reigns in a title match. The 57-year-old wrestling legend, who has had two runs with WWE, spoke about having one last bout at an appearance on Busted Open.

According to Goldberg, he would love to have a final match and has indeed talked about it with WWE CEO Vince McMahon. Although he acknowledges that he may not hold a grudge if the match does not happen, he is willing to make it happen himself. Goldberg stated that it would not have to be with anyone, including WWE or its competitor AEW. He is open to promoting the bout himself and has even thought about doing it overseas in countries such as Israel, India, or Japan.

Goldberg’s career in WWE spanned many years, during which he established himself as one of the company’s most dominant competitors. He has had two undefeated streaks in his WCW career, and his record was surpassed by Asuka in NXT. However, Goldberg has not been pleased with Asuka’s streak, seemingly downplaying her unbeaten run during an appearance on Tim Green’s Nothing Left Unsaid podcast.
