The Fate of Cody Rhodes’ WWE Championship Reign

Cody Rhodes has been holding the Undisputed WWE Championship since WrestleMania XL, but a former WWE host thinks his first-ever World Title reign could end at SummerSlam. Matt Camp, host of The Wrestling Matt podcast, discussed the future of the Undisputed WWE Champion after his victory over AJ Styles at Clash at the Castle.

Camp suggested that Rhodes could feud with his former Legacy leader, Randy Orton, with the latter being Rhodes’ first legitimate challenger for the championship. The former RAW Talk host believes that Orton, as a super heel, would be a believable challenger for Rhodes at SummerSlam, possibly walking out with the WWE Championship on that night. However, Camp also mentioned that Rhodes could get the title back by Survivor Series.

Camp further discussed the possibility of Orton turning on Rhodes after a potential match at Money in the Bank. He suggested that Orton could attack Rhodes after they win a six-man tag team match at the premium live event, or even on the SmackDown episode after Money in the Bank. The scenario would see Orton, who has been training Rhodes, turning on him, saying that he taught him a lot too, but not everything.

While Camp’s predictions and scenarios are intriguing, it remains to be seen if WWE will indeed book Randy Orton to dethrone Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam. Fans can weigh in and discuss the possibilities using the comment section.
