Roman Reigns has been absent from WWE programming since his loss at WrestleMania XL Night Two, and a WWE Hall of Famer has shared his thoughts on how The Tribal Chief should make his comeback. Teddy Long believes Reigns should return as a babyface, stating that the character needs a new direction and a break from Paul Heyman.
Long discussed his ideas on The Wrestling Time Machine, noting that the babyface turn could work if Reigns drops Heyman as his manager. Long says, “The only way that really will become believable, and work, is you have to drop [Paul] Heyman.”
In the same episode, Hall of Fame journalist Bill Apter criticized the booking of the new Bloodline members, Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa. While the duo is presented as ruthless assailants, Apter believes that recent booking decisions have made them appear weak and not as dominant heels. He explains, “It’s being fifty-fifty to be fair to everybody, but you can’t create an amazing killer heel by having him or them be backed up so often.”
With the new Bloodline’s direction still uncertain, fans will have to wait and see how the group will be booked leading up to premium live events like Money in the Bank and SummerSlam.
