A growing tension exists in the wrestling community, not just in the ring but also among fans and superstars on social media and in real life. Recently, Drew McIntyre and WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker have taken a stand against fans who cross boundaries.
On Twitter, McIntyre shared his frustration over fans invading personal space, especially in public areas like airports. In response to a fan’s photo of a Drew McIntyre action figure, McIntyre praised the figure while pointing out the ongoing issue of fans disregarding personal space. He tweeted, “They look great when they’re not shoved under my nose at 5 am in the airport.”
The Undertaker voiced his agreement with McIntyre during a Busted Open interview. He referred to an incident where Rhea Ripley was surrounded by fans seeking autographs and shared his concern about the exploitation of celebrities. Although generally accommodating towards fans, The Undertaker believes it is inappropriate to disrupt athletes’ personal time, particularly during early mornings.
Ripley, who is currently injured from her April match, deals with the effects of these intrusions on WWE TV. Liv Morgan, the new Women’s World Champion, has started pursuing Ripley’s on-screen boyfriend, Dominik Mysterio.
As WWE prepares for the anticipated match between McIntyre and CM Punk, these concerns emphasize the need for maintaining boundaries and respecting athletes’ personal space. McIntyre and The Undertaker’s statements serve as a reminder for fans to appreciate their favorite superstars while respecting their privacy.
