Damian Priest, the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion, had an injury scare during his match against Drew McIntyre at WWE Clash at the Castle. Despite the mishap, Priest continued the match and ultimately retained his title. However, fans were left concerned about the severity of his injury.

A recent update by Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio revealed that the injury was not as bad as initially thought. Meltzer stated that it was a miracle that the injury did not turn out severe and that the preliminary news indicated that it was not bad.

Triple H, WWE’s Head of Creative, also commented on the injury scare during the post-show conference. He admitted that when he saw the incident happen, his heart jumped out of his chest, and he was hoping for good news about Priest’s condition. Triple H added that while Priest seemed fine in the moment, adrenaline is a powerful drug, and he was hoping for good news when he left the conference.

Despite Triple H’s concerns, Priest continued to walk around after the match, indicating that the injury might not be as severe as initially thought. However, fans will have to wait until this week’s Monday Night RAW to find out from Priest himself if the injury is severe or not.

During the match, McIntyre suffered a bitter outcome due to CM Punk’s interference. Despite the interference, Priest capitalized on the opportunity and put away McIntyre to retain his WWE World Heavyweight Title. However, the match will be remembered for the injury scare as well as Punk’s unexpected interference.

The mishap occurred when Priest went for a high-risk springboard from the middle of the ropes, and his ankle got caught between the ropes. The botch left everyone scared for Priest’s condition, but he soldiered on and finished the match while often seen limping through the bout.

In the post-show conference, Priest stated that he had not yet gone to the doctor to get an examination but thought he would be alright. However, the preliminary update by Meltzer indicated that it was a miracle that the injury did not turn out severe.

The incident serves as a reminder of the risks that professional wrestlers take in the ring. Despite the dangers, Priest continued the match and ultimately emerged victorious, retaining his title. However, the memory of the injury scare will likely linger, reminding fans of the physical toll that professional wrestling can take on the body.
