At the Backlash post-show presser in France, journalist Lucas Charpiot stirred controversy by questioning Triple H about Drew Gulak’s release from WWE. This inquiry sparked reactions online, with Charpiot disclosing that a WWE PR representative criticized him for the question. Charpiot shared, “One of the PR, as soon as I sent my question to Triple H, said to me, ‘What a dumb thing to do.'” Despite anticipating backlash, Charpiot stood by his query.

Triple H’s response to Charpiot’s question garnered a mixed reception on social media. The WWE Chief Content Officer emphasized the importance of reliable news sources, stating, “If you’re going to cite news sources, pick good ones. That’s where I would start — credible, really, maybe.” He clarified that while talent departures are routine in WWE, Gulak’s situation involved the non-renewal of his contract, not a release.

Earlier this year, former WWE Superstar Ronda Rousey accused Drew Gulak of inappropriate behavior backstage in 2022. Following the allegation, Gulak was taken off WWE TV, culminating in the conclusion of his eight-year tenure with the company. It’s worth mentioning that an internal investigation was conducted in response to Rousey’s claims against Gulak.

The unfolding events surrounding Drew Gulak’s exit from WWE have sparked discussions and shed light on the complexities within the wrestling industry.
