WWE Backlash 2024 is set to air live from France tomorrow, featuring only five matches on the card. The main event will see Cody Rhodes defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against AJ Styles. AJ Styles made a bold statement by smacking The American Nightmare in the face during WWE SmackDown.

In addition, Bayley will defend the WWE Women’s Championship against Naomi and Tiffany Stratton, while The Kabuki Warriors will defend the Women’s Tag Team Championships against Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair.

Notably, there are 10 popular WWE Superstars who are not booked for matches at Backlash. LA Knight, despite a recent victory on SmackDown, will not be competing. Gunther, who recently lost his Intercontinental Championship reign, will also not be in action. Sami Zayn, the current Intercontinental Champion, will not be defending his title at the event.

Logan Paul, the United States Champion, will not be appearing at Backlash. Braun Strowman, who made a chaotic return on RAW, will not be returning to the ring at the event. Liv Morgan’s revenge tour will be put on hold, as she is not scheduled for a match. Rey Mysterio, Ricochet, and Nia Jax are also notable names not featured on the Backlash card.

Each superstar has their own storyline and reasons for not being booked, from title reigns to recent actions on WWE programming. Despite their absence from Backlash, these superstars continue to play significant roles in the WWE terrain.
