Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is making waves in the wrestling world with his latest project announcement that has fans buzzing. Teaming up with Vice TV and the Dark Side of the Ring crew, The Rock and his partners are set to bring a new wrestling series to the screen.

The project, titled “Who Killed WCW?”, delves into the mysterious demise of World Championship Wrestling (WCW), once a powerhouse in American wrestling. Scheduled to premiere on June 4 at 10 pm ET exclusively on Vice TV, the docuseries promises to uncover the history, rise, and fall of WCW, featuring never-before-seen footage and interviews with wrestling legends like Booker T, Alundra Blayze, and more.

The collaboration between The Rock’s Seven Bucks Productions, Vice Studios, and Dark Side’s Evan Husney and Jason Eisener aims to shed light on the behind-the-scenes drama that led to WCW’s downfall. Executive producers include The Rock, Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia, and former WWE head writer Brian Gewirtz, among others.

In a statement, The Rock expressed his excitement for the project, highlighting the charming story of WCW’s rise and fall as a key inspiration in his own career. Dany Garcia emphasized the significance of the WCW project, showcasing their documentary storytelling skills in professional wrestling.

Vice TV’s Interim President, Peter Gaffney, praised the partnership with Seven Bucks, emphasizing the unparalleled access to a compelling story in modern pro wrestling. The series promises to explore the complex factors behind WCW’s downfall, offering exclusive interviews and insights into the industry’s inner workings.

As fans eagerly await the premiere of “Who Killed WCW?”, The Rock’s foray into wrestling storytelling is poised to charm audiences and provide a fresh perspective on one of the most iconic eras in wrestling history.
