Christian Pulisic expressed immense pride following his instrumental role in AC Milan’s comeback to salvage a point against Sassuolo in Serie A action.
Initially benched for the match, Pulisic witnessed his team trailing 3-2 before being substituted on for Samuel Chukwueze with 25 minutes remaining.
Milan rallied, securing the equalizer less than 20 minutes later, courtesy of Noah Okafor’s strike past Sassuolo’s goalkeeper Andrea Consigli.
Amidst a remarkable season at the San Siro since his transfer from Chelsea last year, Pulisic has contributed significantly, tallying 10 goals and six assists in the league.
Although he didn’t add to his goal tally in the Sassuolo clash, Pulisic expressed delight in the team’s resilience against a tough opponent.
Taking to Instagram, the 25-year-old winger shared his sentiments, posting, “Proud of the fight today,” in the aftermath of the thrilling away encounter.
Looking ahead, Pulisic is anticipated to return to Stefano Pioli’s starting lineup for Milan’s crucial Europa League quarter-final second leg clash against Roma on Thursday.
Following a 1-0 defeat in the first leg at San Siro, Milan faces an uphill battle, with Roma holding the advantage.
