Logan Ryan, who played in six conference championship games and won two Super Bowl rings as a cornerback and safety over his 11 NFL seasons, announced his retirement on Tuesday.
“I am officially retiring from the NFL,” Ryan said in a video posted to X. “What a great career. What a ride it was. Beautiful journey of highs and lows, like they always are.”
The 33-year-old Ryan secured two championships with the New England Patriots during his first four seasons in the league after being selected by the team in the third round of the 2013 draft.
Throughout his career, he also played for the Tennessee Titans, New York Giants, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and San Francisco 49ers.
A notable highlight of his career came after he signed with the Titans, where he intercepted Tom Brady to seal a 20-13 win in an AFC wild-card game on January 4, 2020.
This pass was the last thrown by Brady in his career with the Patriots. Last season, he had 13 tackles in five games (two starts) with the 49ers.
Over his 11 seasons, Ryan amassed 755 tackles, 19 interceptions, 13 sacks, 14 forced fumbles, and 4 recoveries in 154 games played. He also scored one defensive touchdown, which occurred during his rookie season.
