Former England international and pundit Jamie Redknapp criticized Marcus Rashford for his perceived lack of commitment during Manchester United’s clash with Brentford.

Redknapp lambasted Rashford, alleging that the English forward displayed a lack of effort during the match against Brentford.

He observed Rashford walking around the pitch without much endeavor, particularly noting his performance during United’s 1-1 draw on Saturday. Mason Mount broke the deadlock in the 95th minute, only for the hosts to equalize three minutes later.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Redknapp expressed his disappointment, stating, “I think Man United fans would have been really looking forward to tonight after what was the back of a brilliant result against Liverpool, and you thought it might have turned their season around.

They have been so bad tonight. I cannot believe the lack of effort, the lack of spark, and desire to win individual battles to make things happen in that team.”

“Watching Marcus Rashford, he’s walking around like it’s a bit of fun out there. It’s the Premier League. You’ve got to try to win games. We’ve been amazed at how poor Manchester United have been.”

Redknapp expressed concern over Rashford’s form this season after a stellar performance last year. He emphasized Rashford’s talent but noted his current struggle to enjoy his football.

Redknapp wished to see Rashford smiling and enjoying the game again, believing that this would lead to improved performances. He expressed hope that Rashford would regain his form and become a dominant force on the field.

Manchester United, under Erik ten Hag’s management, will face Chelsea in a challenging Premier League fixture on Thursday at Stamford Bridge.
