Joshua Kimmich remains composed amid speculation surrounding his future at Bayern Munich, despite nearing the final year of his contract and attracting interest from various clubs.
As the German midfielder edges closer to free agency in the summer of 2025, rumors linking him to top clubs like Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Real Madrid, and Barcelona have intensified.
While Kimmich is curious about Bayern’s new coach following Thomas Tuchel’s departure, uncertainties loom over his own tenure at the club.
In an interview with German newspaper Die Welt, Kimmich expressed his calm demeanor, stating, “For me, the situation is very clear. I still have over a year left on my contract, so I’m relaxed about it.”
He emphasized his immediate focus on achieving positive results in the Bundesliga, Champions League, and upcoming Euros, highlighting their significance.
Despite the transfer speculations and past interest from Newcastle United in January, Kimmich’s primary goal remains to achieve success with Bayern. However, Bayern might opt to sell him this summer to avoid losing him for free.
Addressing Bayern’s 10-point gap behind Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen, Kimmich admitted his frustration, affirming their collective ambition to secure the league title.
He acknowledged Leverkusen’s remarkable season while underscoring Bayern’s determination to maximize their opportunities.
Currently, on international duty with Germany, Kimmich will feature in upcoming fixtures against France and the Netherlands before returning to Bundesliga action with Bayern against Borussia Dortmund on March 30.
