Sacramento Kings guard Kevin Huerter will be out of action due to a dislocated left shoulder and labral tear.
Huerter sustained the injury during the first quarter of Monday night’s game against Memphis and has been sidelined since then.
The team announced on Thursday that they are looking into treatment options for him and did not specify a timeline for his return.
The Kings are currently in a competitive race to avoid the play-in tournament, holding the eighth spot in the Western Conference standings as of Thursday, trailing Dallas and Phoenix by just half a game.
The top six teams in the West will secure direct playoff berths, while the following four will vie for qualification through the play-in tournament.
Huerter has been a consistent starter for the Kings this season, appearing in 59 games and averaging 10.2 points per game, a slight decrease from his 15.2 points per game last season, his first with Sacramento.
Additionally, his 3-point shooting percentage has dipped from 40.2% last season to 36.1% this season.
