Antonee Robinson wants the world to get bored with the U.S. men’s national team winning the CONCACAF Nations League.

The U.S. is set to face Jamaica on Thursday in the CONCACAF Nations League semifinal, with the winner advancing to face either Mexico or Panama in the final on Sunday.

This is the third edition of the CONCACAF Nations League, and the U.S. has claimed victory in both previous tournaments.

The inaugural final saw the U.S. triumph over Mexico in an instant classic, while the 2023 edition featured a commanding 3-0 win over Canada.

Now, the U.S. aims to secure their third consecutive title, with Robinson expressing the team’s desire to firmly establish their dominance in the competition.

“Every time we play for a trophy, it means something,” Robinson began. “But I want to keep winning this trophy. I want only us to win it to the point that it gets boring to people that we keep winning it.

We always focus on the bigger picture, we know the big, big picture is the next World Cup, but we obviously have a lot of steps in between.

We’ve got this Nations League and then the Copa, which is probably the second biggest tournament after the World Cup that we can play in and is going to be a real test for us.

We’re all looking forward to it. Some big friendlies, more Nations League, a Gold Cup next year, so there’s plenty of opportunities to practice in knockout competitions before the big one.”

The Nations League will serve as a crucial lead-up to this summer’s Copa America, which, as Robinson stated, is the USMNT’s most significant World Cup preparation. Gregg Berhalter’s team has been drawn into a group alongside Uruguay, Panama, and Bolivia for this summer’s tournament.

After their round of 16 exit to the Netherlands in the 2022 World Cup, the U.S. is emphasizing the importance of mastering knockout round competitions, with the Nations League and Copa America providing valuable experience this year.

The U.S. will face Jamaica on Thursday before looking ahead to either the final or the third-place game.

Following international duty, Robinson will return to Fulham for consecutive matches against fellow Americans as the Cottagers face Auston Trusty’s Sheffield United and then Gio Reyna, Matt Turner, and Nottingham Forest.
