CM Punk recently revealed an injury that will keep him out of the ring for six to eight months. Despite this setback, WWE has set his return date for the March 25 episode of WWE RAW, to be held at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois. The announcement of extra tickets being available for the show has added to the anticipation surrounding Punk’s comeback. However, his rival, former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre, seems less than thrilled about Punk’s swift return to the spotlight.

The tension between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk escalated before the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event, where McIntyre physically confronted Punk after the latter announced his absence from WrestleMania XL. McIntyre took a jab at Punk on social media, referencing Punk’s return to pro wrestling after a long hiatus at AEW Rampage in 2021. Despite Punk’s absence, McIntyre seized an opportunity by winning the 2024 Men’s Elimination Chamber Match, earning a shot at World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40.

While Punk’s clearance for in-ring action remains uncertain, fans speculate on his potential role at WrestleMania 40. His upcoming appearance on RAW is expected to provide insights into his plans for the grand event. In a separate WWE storyline, Drew McIntyre voices his discontent regarding Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes pulling double duty at WrestleMania. McIntyre emphasizes the importance of focusing on title matches and criticizes Rollins for involving himself in irrelevant conflicts.

McIntyre’s recent social media activity hints at a strategic mindset, echoing Triple H’s famous quote, “There’s always a Plan B,” in response to CM Punk’s injury sidelining. As McIntyre gears up for WrestleMania, he emphasizes his determination to prioritize the world title and avoid distractions. The dynamic between Punk, McIntyre, Rollins, and Rhodes sets the stage for an intense showdown leading up to the highly anticipated sports entertainment extravaganza in April.
